Every day grows more alienated
than all the previous combined
So many hopes buried, so much disappointment
I was looking for so long and so desperately
to find an immanent goodness within me,
one all men could share
I found an abyss
For as long as man walks the earth
we search an object for our faith
Merciless is our kind’s demand
to place an order and purpose where there’s none
Instead of good, we are born with gaping wound,
a pain we must find a way to explain
Truth is uglier,
truth is scarier
than we could have
ever foreseen
Luminous ichor pours from the skies
We have constructed our own gods
to devour them in the end, to sanctify violence
Now the flesh of the divine is served
as we feast on the ignorance of the past
So proud, so fresh, a coronation of mediocrity today
What a vicious circle
growing up to learn
the reason is quiet
ignorance thunderous
What a vicious circle,
what an ugly thing,
what an ugly thing to learn
The immanent, innate pain
of the eight billion souls full of blame
Ignorance always finds a way
for violence to end up glorified
Foolish is one who holds hopes high
for the spiteful world of indifference
For as long as man walks the earth
we search an object for our faith
Merciless is our kind’s demand
to place an order and purpose where there’s none
Instead of good, we are born with gaping wound,
a pain we must find a way to explain
Truth is uglier,
truth is scarier
than we could have
ever invent
Luminous ichor pours from the skies
We have constructed our own gods
to devour them in the end, to sanctify violence
The immanent, innate pain
of the eight billion souls full of blame
Ignorance always finds a way
for violence to end up glorified
Foolish is one who holds hopes high
for the spiteful world of indifference
Now the flesh of the divine is served
as we feast on the ignorance of the past

As mysterious and powerful as the Zitkova goddesses themselves. In the moonlight there is magic, and this is passed into the herbs they collect at night for their spells. While the goddesses themselves might or might not be gone, the power waits in the land and the blood for true seekers to discover. Dave Aftandilian

Very lush expansive doom, lots of different arrangements and choral vocals, slow and sad and full of regret. Extremely high quality stuff. Sounds like a life’s work. Also quite heavy. Jono Schneider

A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson
